Brisket Preparation

BBQ sauce

Instructions
Preheat your smoker to 225°F. If using a slow cooker, set to low.
Rub the brisket with paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and salt.
Place the brisket in the smoker and cook for 4-5 hours, or until it reaches 160°F.
Brush the brisket with BBQ sauce and continue cooking until internal temperature reaches 200°F.
Remove brisket from the smoker and let it rest for 30 minutes before slicing.
Slice the brisket thinly and assemble the sandwiches with buns, coleslaw, and pickles.
Notes
For a smoky flavor, use post oak or hickory wood. If using a slow cooker, cook on low for 8 hours instead of smoking.
