Instructions
In a microwave-safe mug, whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder (if using), baking powder, and salt.
Add the milk, oil (or melted butter), and vanilla extract. Stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
If desired, mix in chocolate chips, nuts, or fruit for extra flavor.
Microwave on high for 1 to 1.5 minutes. Check for doneness. If needed, microwave for another 15-30 seconds.
Let cool for a minute before enjoying. Serve with whipped cream, fruit, or a drizzle of chocolate sauce.
Notes
Experiment with different flavors by adding cinnamon, peanut butter, or caramel drizzle. Adjust cooking time based on your microwave's wattage.
